The New Yorker has a great article on Norton Juster, the author of The Phantom Toolbooth. My Mom bought me the book on one of her trips to UNC Chapel Hill for a class, I read it over and over, and still love it. I hope just one of my kids can enjoy it as much as I did.
Milo, Tock (the watchdog), Officer Shrif, Unabridged , King Azaz, the Humbug, Alec Bings, Terrible Trivium and the Senses Taker were all good friends.
Hope others out there have fond memories as well.
